The cities of Longview and Kelso are located in southwestern Washington on the I-5 where the Cowlitz, Coweeman and Columbia Rivers converge.
The urban area of Longview and Kelso is about 50 miles north of Portland and 125 miles south of Seattle.
The main attraction bringing visitors to the Longview and Kelso area is Mount Saint Helen. Mt. St. Helen is the most active volcano in the Cascade Mountain range.
Since its violent eruption in 1980 the mountain is monitored closely to ensure the safety of visitors and the safety of the nearby towns. In recent years the mount is again active. Lucky visitor might be able to witness plumes of smoke rising above the summit.
Most hotels in this area are located along highway 4 and I-5, less than 2 miles of downtown Kelso.
